Visies voor Suriname
Met het oog op de viering van 45 jaar Srefidensi op 25 november 2020, vroeg de organisatie BINI (Burgerinitiatief voor Participatie en Goed Bestuur) aan een aantal landgenoten om hun dromen voor Suriname over 30 jaar, op papier te zetten:

Suriname National Values Assessment
In 2020 is – in navolging van 20+ andere landen wereldwijd- een zogeheten National Value Assessment gedaan voor Suriname. Een NVA is een cultuuronderzoek dat inzicht geeft in de beleving van huidige en toekomstige waarden in een land. Het doel van het Suriname NVA was om na te gaan wat ons als natie met elkaar verbindt op basis van waarden.
De landen waar NVA’s hebben plaatsgevonden zijn: Canada, USA, Trinidad and Tobago, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Nigeria, South-Africa, Australie, Bhutan, Saudi-Arabie, Singapore, Verenigde Arabische Emiraten, Belgie, Denemarken, Finland, Frankrijk, Georgie, Ijsland, Italie, Latvie, Slowakije, Zweden, Zwitserland, Turkije.
Tijdens het assessment in Suriname namen 1292 personen deel aan een survey, bestaande uit de volgende vragen:
- Waar geloof jij als persoon echt in ? Jouw top 10 waarden ?
- Welke waarden ervaar jij momenteel in Suriname ?
- Welke waarden heeft Suriname nodig voor de toekomst?
